Warranty Policy

Last Updated: March 2026

Liberty Tires stands behind every product we sell. Our warranty covers manufacturing defects and ensures you're protected on the road. All warranty claims are handled directly by us — you deal with Liberty Tires, not the manufacturer.

1. Warranty Overview

All products sold by Liberty Tires carry a manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty duration and coverage varies by product category — see the detailed breakdown below.

We process warranty claims directly — you deal with us, not the manufacturer. This means faster resolution and less hassle for you.

Important: This warranty is provided in addition to (not in place of) any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

Warranty Coverage

We stand behind every product we sell.

General Warranty Terms

All warranty claims must be submitted within the warranty period with proof of purchase. Warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable. Products must be used in their intended application and maintained according to manufacturer specifications.

To file a claim, contact us at (224) 642-8165 or visit our Contact page with your order number and photos of the defective product.

Warranty Policy

1. How to File a Warranty Claim

  1. Contact us at (224) 642-8165 or through our Contact page within 30 days of discovering the defect
  2. Provide documentation: Order number, date of purchase, photos of the defect (including full tire sidewall showing DOT code), and a description of the issue
  3. Assessment: Our team will review within 1–2 business days and may request additional photos or information
  4. Resolution: Approved claims are resolved with a replacement product, pro-rated credit, or store credit (see Pro-Rated section below)

For tires, we may request the defective tire be returned for manufacturer inspection. We cover return shipping for approved warranty claims within our delivery area.

2. Pro-Rated Credit Calculation

For tires beyond the full-replacement period, warranty credit is calculated on a pro-rated basis using the following formula:

Pro-Rated Credit = (Remaining Tread Depth ÷ Original Tread Depth) × Original Purchase Price

Example: A tire purchased for $280 with original tread depth of 22/32" and remaining tread of 12/32" at time of claim:

Credit = (12 ÷ 22) × $280 = $152.73 store credit

Measurement standards:

  • Tread depth is measured at the shallowest point of the primary tread grooves using a calibrated tread depth gauge
  • Original tread depth is based on the manufacturer's published specification for that tire model
  • Pro-rated credit is issued as store credit toward a replacement tire purchase only — not as a cash refund

3. Warranty Coverage Periods

Warranty resolution depends on the product category and remaining life:

Commercial Truck Tires (Landspider / Koryo):

  • 0–12 months AND over 50% tread remaining: Full replacement at no cost
  • 12–24 months OR 25–50% tread remaining: Pro-rated credit toward a replacement (see formula above)
  • Over 24 months OR under 25% tread: No warranty coverage

Truck Parts & Components:

  • 0–12 months: Full replacement at no cost

Flatbed Equipment & Accessories:

  • 0–90 days: Full replacement at no cost

4. Definition of Normal Use

Warranty coverage applies only to tires used under "normal use" conditions, defined as:

  • Inflation pressure: Maintained within ±5 PSI of the pressure specified on the tire sidewall or vehicle manufacturer's recommendation (typically 100–120 PSI for commercial truck tires)
  • Load rating: Vehicle load does not exceed the tire's maximum load rating as printed on the sidewall. For dual-tire configurations, load must not exceed the dual-rated capacity
  • Speed rating: Vehicle operated within the tire's maximum speed rating
  • Application: Tire used in the position it was designed for (steer tires on steer axle, drive tires on drive axle, trailer tires on trailer axle)
  • Maintenance: Regular visual inspections performed, proper rotation schedule followed (if applicable), and tires replaced before reaching minimum legal tread depth (2/32")

5. What Voids the Warranty

  • Use in applications other than the product's intended purpose (e.g., steer tire used in drive position)
  • Improper mounting, balancing, or inflation (over- or under-inflation)
  • Road hazard damage: punctures, cuts, impact breaks, curb damage, or debris damage
  • Overloading: operating beyond the tire's or vehicle's rated capacity (GVWR/GAWR)
  • Modifications or alterations to the product (regrooving, retreading, siping)
  • Damage from accidents, fire, vandalism, or chemical exposure
  • Use on vehicles with mechanical defects affecting tire wear (misaligned axles, worn suspension, bent rims)
  • Purchase from unauthorized resellers or transfers to a second owner
  • Failure to report the defect within 30 days of discovery
  • Removal of DOT code, serial number, or product identification markings

6. Tire Age Disclaimer

Important Safety Information: Tires degrade over time regardless of tread depth or use. The manufacturing date of every tire is indicated by the DOT code on the sidewall (last 4 digits = week and year of manufacture, e.g., "2425" = 24th week of 2025).

  • All tires sold by Liberty Tires are new and manufactured within the last 24 months unless specifically noted otherwise
  • Tires that are 5+ years old from the DOT manufacture date should be inspected annually by a qualified commercial tire technician, regardless of tread depth
  • Tires that are 10+ years old should be removed from service, regardless of condition or tread depth
  • Warranty does not cover age-related degradation (dry rot, sidewall cracking, rubber hardening) on tires stored or used beyond 5 years from the manufacture date

7. Road Hazard vs. Manufacturing Defect

Understanding the difference is important for warranty claims:

Manufacturing Defect (COVERED by warranty):

  • Tread separation — tread peeling away from the casing without road hazard cause
  • Sidewall bulge or bubble — structural failure in the sidewall
  • Bead failure — tire will not seat or hold air properly on the rim
  • Belt separation — internal belt layers separating, causing vibration or irregular wear
  • Premature, uneven tread wear under documented normal use conditions

Road Hazard (NOT covered by warranty):

  • Punctures from nails, screws, glass, or other debris
  • Cuts or tears from sharp objects on the road surface
  • Impact damage from potholes, curbs, or road debris
  • Blowout caused by under-inflation, overloading, or high-speed impact

For warranty claims, call us at (224) 642-8165 with your order number and photos of the issue. We aim to resolve all claims within 3–5 business days.
